An open loft beneath restored timber trusses, lit from above.
The challenge
The roof of this Victorian villa held a forgotten attic and a fine structure of original trusses.
The solution
We kept every truss, inserted a long rooflight along the ridge and placed a sculptural oak stair to reach it.
The outcome
The result is a studio and guest suite that feels both new and very old.
