A two-storey bronze-finned extension with a frameless corner over the city.
The challenge
The house sits high on the southern slopes of Bath, with a view that the original rooms turned their back on.
The solution
We added two storeys to the rear, wrapped in vertical bronze fins that filter the afternoon sun and give privacy from neighbours below.
The outcome
At the corner the fins stop and the glass meets without a frame. A floating oak stair and a deep window seat face the lights of the city.
