A pale glazed-brick kitchen beneath a sawtooth of north-facing rooflights.
The challenge
The family wanted a kitchen that was bright all day without overheating in summer.
The solution
Our answer was a sawtooth roof. Each rooflight faces north, bringing in soft, even daylight and no glare. Pale glazed brick reflects it deep into the plan.
The outcome
A single pivot door opens the room to a planted courtyard. The Victorian villa behind is untouched and, if anything, looks better for its new neighbour.
